Clayton Echard, a 29-year-old construction worker from La Mirada, California, will be the Bachelor for Season 26.

The actor, businessman and musician, who’s also known for his Star Wars costumes, will meet the other 28 women during the premiere in January, CNN reported.

Echard, a devout Episcopalian who is a core member of the “kids club” at St. Mark Presbyterian Church in Whittier, California, spent the majority of his summer in July and August preparing to start filming the show. At the time, his dad confirmed that his son was joining the show and that his father was a friend of “the Bachelor” host Chris Harrison, CNN reported.

Echard is “extremely nervous and a little fearful,” he told People during an interview at the time. “I think the pressure of this show could get to me.”

“I’m a real gentleman. That’s why they chose me. I believe in being honorable,” he told CNN. “That’s what they [Harrison and the show’s producers] are looking for. I’m looking for a good family, that’s what they are looking for.”

As for what he’s looking for in a woman, “I’d like her to be feisty. I’d like her to have fun and not be too serious,” he told People. “I’d like to see them laugh a lot.”

Back in September, Echard spoke with TMZ about how he felt about becoming the Bachelor.

“If they told me to do it if I wasn’t being a good person and a good guy, I would turn it down,” he said. “If they find someone who is more perfect than me, I would of done it. I just want the good woman to come out of it. I’m not looking for anything crazy. If I have to marry somebody I will look back on that moment and think that I had found somebody.”

Last week, Ecker revealed on his Instagram, one day before the Bachelor announcement was made public, that his favorite movie is Star Wars.
